We’re committed to education in multiple ways, including raising awareness among the American public, voicing our support of educational funding on behalf of member organizations, and responding to Congress on related policy and funding initiatives.
As part of these efforts, we publish the various budget responses and hotsheets, resources like an appropriations glossary and budget timeline, and data visualizations described below.
Plus, we host an annual gala and legislative conference that our member organizations and interested citizens are welcome to attend.
Annual Budget Responses
CEF’s annual Education Budget Response is the most comprehensive source available on how vital federal education programs improve the lives of millions of Americans.
The Budget Response is a useful source for information on federal education programs, but there are resources even more valuable: the authors and contacts listed within, who invite you to find out more about the programs described here and the lives of the people these programs touch.
Budget Hotsheets
We publish these Budget Hotsheets regularly to summarize what’s going on with respect to educational funding in America each month.
The monthly CEF Hotsheet is distributed to all 535 House and Senate members’ offices on Capitol Hill, as well as our 80-plus member organizations.
Appropriations Tracker Charts
Each year, we continue to analyze and track appropriations, then aggregate them in visualizations like the No Child Left Behind Full-Funding Gauge, a Discretionary Appropriations Graph, and Appropriations Charts spanning FY 2001-2009 on everything from Maximum Pell Grants to Impact Aid.
