Director of Tax, Immigration and Innovation, University of California
The University of California’s Office of Federal Governmental Relations is seeking a Director of Tax, Immigration and Innovation to join its Washington, D.C.-based team.
The Director will serve as one of UC’s primary federal lobbyists and provide subject matter expertise, analysis and political strategy on issues related to tax, immigration, labor, economic development, intellectual property, technology transfer and commercialization, capital assets and infrastructure and contractor management. The Director will engage with Congress, the administration and federal agencies, as well as with national associations and other higher education institutions, to advance UC’s priorities. This individual will work closely with UC leadership, faculty, staff and students across the UC system to coordinate and communicate UC’s positions on key policy issues.
Qualified candidates should have at least 10 years of increasingly responsible experience in government relations, public policy or advocacy, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. The position is based at the UC Washington Center (UCDC) in Washington, D.C. and is a hybrid work schedule with the requirement of three days per week in the office (Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday).
The University of California, Office of the President, is required to provide a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role: $185,000 – $204,700, commensurate with experience.

Media and Advocacy Coordinator, ACTE
The Association for Career and Technical Education (ACTE) seeks an individual to manage our policy-related communications and media activities, as well as to inform and engage members in grassroots advocacy. Key responsibilities include managing ACTE’s direct media activities, including making strong contacts with reporters representing education, workforce and business media, and communications professionals from advocacy/policy organizations; developing social media content to support our policy and advocacy goals; overseeing website and blog content related to policy and research; sharing information on federal policy activities with members; producing written materials, providing technical support and giving presentations to assist members in connecting with policymakers to promote the organization’s policy agenda and CTE more broadly; and coordinating events, briefings or other activities to support the association’s policy and public affairs goals.
